A five minute walk from Les Charmes will take you to a family run Auberge and
pub that serves simple dishes at reasonable prices. Local wines, whiskies and a
nice beer selection are available. Closed on Mondays.
CAFÉ DE LA PLACE: tel. 05 53 28 81 54
In Salignac, on the lovely main square, and it’s only
2 km from Les Charmes. There, you can enjoy either a simple omelette,
a tasty salad, pan fried foie gras and many other local dishes.
AU PUITS GOURMAND : tel. 05 53 29 52 71Au Puits Gourmand
10 minutes drive takes you to the typical Perigourdin village of Proissans. This
lovely place serves exquisite food in a relaxed setting. The cooking is
attentive, the menu full of regional specialities
presented beautifully.

On the D704, 3 km from Sarlat center, stands this old barn which serves fairly
descent grilled meats. Closed on Wednesdays.

Facing the Cathedral, enjoy wonderful local cooking using our regional produce.

LE BISTRO DE L’OCTROI: tel. 05 53 30 83 40
This restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch or for diner and rarely
disappoints. Decent selection of local dishes, plus a good selection of sea food
is found here. Many non duck dishes in a buzzy ambiance.
LA RAPIERE: tel. 05 53 59 03 13
Open 7 days a week. In front of the cathedral, one of the only descent
restaurants in very central Sarlat serving traditional dishes. Service can be a
little “brusque” though the food is pretty nice.
LE GRAND BLEU: tel.05 53 31 08 48
The restaurant is situated in avenue de la gare, a one
minute walk from Sarlat train station. This is a fantastic restaurant run by a
young couple who have already earned a Michelin star. In a simple décor you will
find great food at very fair prices. A lovely experience. Closed on Sunday
nights and Mondays.

La Roque Gageac: Lovely restaurant with a gorgeous dining room and fine dishes
rarely disappoints. Some tables overlook the Dordogne River.

Try having lunch in a beautiful setting such as the magnificent “Les Jardins
d’Eyrignac” in Salignac or at Les Jardins de Marqueyssac where you can eat
whilst admiring both le château de Beynac and le
château de Castelnaud.
